Kazuhide Takahama

Japanese architect and designer Kazuhide Takahama (1930-2010) is best known for his furniture and lighting designs for powerhouses, including Knoll and Cassina. Having studied at the prestigious Tokyo Institute of Technology, Takahama soon after designed the Japanese Pavilion for the Triennale di Milano, relocating to Italy and working closely, amongst others, with B&B Italia. Takahama's designs are clean-lined and elegantly shaped, displaying a functionalist approach to modernism that intertwines both Japanese aesthetics and Western elements.
